The EZX Southern Soul is an expansion pack for Toontrack’s EZdrummer and Superior Drummer software, designed to bring the rich, authentic sound of classic Southern soul and R&B drums to your productions. This EZX was meticulously recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a location synonymous with iconic soul music from artists like Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding.

The pack includes five full drum kits (from Ludwig, Gretsch, Pearl, and Sakae) recorded with a unique, period-correct flair. It features two distinct setups: a classic “60s” all-mono miking technique and a “70s” full stereo setup. A signature feature is the inclusion of “leakage” microphones, which capture the natural bleed of drums into the vocal, guitar, and piano mics, adding an authentic live-band presence to the sound.
