The Atelier Series – Orb Trumpets by Musical Sampling is a virtual instrument for Kontakt, focusing on a two-player trumpet section. It is a “proof-of-concept” library that is entirely performance-sourced, meaning the samples were derived from real-world phrases rather than traditional single-note recordings. This unique approach, combined with Musical Sampling’s signature “Adventure” programming, allows for a fluid and expressive playing experience without the need for keyswitching. The library includes multiple patches, such as a “Workhorse” patch for general use and specific patches for staccato and staccatissimo. Recorded in a dry studio for maximum mixing flexibility, this instrument captures the natural intonation and character of a live performance, making it an excellent tool for composers and producers who need realistic and dynamic trumpet sounds.
