String Contours is an innovative KONTAKT sample library that redefines the realism of dynamic string phrases. Instead of traditional static samples, it features meticulously recorded “contours”—musical performances with a fixed length and dynamic shape (e.g., a 2-bar crescendo followed by a 2-bar diminuendo). The library allows you to freely change notes within this recorded contour without triggering a new performance, preserving the natural flow, contextual vibrato, and dynamic movement of a live recording. This approach drastically reduces the need for intensive MIDI CC programming, allowing composers to achieve highly expressive, cinematic results for full string sections, as well as solo violin and cello.
